About Us
A family business, growing for over a century
Glennon Brothers began in Longford, Ireland in 1913. What started as a mill sawing hardwoods for local use has grown, over three generations of the Glennon family, into one of the leading timber processors in Ireland and the UK.
That growth has accelerated in recent years. In November 2021 we acquired Balcas, near Enniskillen — doubling our turnover and expanding our operations across Northern Ireland and Scotland. In January 2026 we welcomed the Pontrilas Group, founded in 1947, adding £120 million in turnover and bases in Hereford, Llanelli and Llangennech.
Today more than 930 people work across our sites in Longford and Fermoy in Ireland, Enniskillen in Northern Ireland, Troon, Irvine, Invergordon and Edinburgh in Scotland, and Hereford and Carmarthenshire in Wales. Together we supply the construction, pallet and fencing industries on both sides of the Irish Sea.

Craft and quality
From kiln-dried, strength-graded carcassing and CLS for timber frame, to engineered roof trusses, Glendeck decking and timber frame homes — we manufacture timber products trusted across the construction industry for their consistency and quality.

Sustainability at our core
Timber is one of the world's few renewable building materials, and we treat it that way. We source only from sustainably managed forests where more trees are planted than harvested, and our renewable energy plants at Enniskillen and Invergordon generate more electricity than all of our business units use combined.

Nothing goes to waste
Every part of the log is put to use. Alongside our core products, we supply residual materials — wood chips, sawdust, bark and shavings — into a wide range of end uses, keeping our process as circular as possible.
